Christina was born and raised in Payson, AZ. She is the mother of three and has spent the last 15 years volunteering and working with many local organizations. She was a foster parent to three amazing kids for about a year. She worked at the local elementary schools. She also held a board position as Junior Regent and Senior Regent for the Woman of the Moose. Additionally, she worked at an attorney’s office for over a year learning family law.

At the age of four, Christina was diagnosed with a rare heart and lung disease caused by irreparable medical malpractice. The condition has caused severe damage and complications to both her heart and lungs, making it difficult to hold down a single job. When Brandon had back surgery and Christina started coughing up blood, the possibility of taking over Back To Basics came to light ‒ and everyone felt it was a good idea.

Brandon moved from Colorado Springs, CO, to Payson, AZ, in 1996 with his mother and three brothers. After moving between Colorado and Arizona over the years, he has finally settled here in Payson. He married Christina Furlong and today is the father of three girls.

Before acquiring Back To Basics, Brandon worked as a delivery driver for CarQuest. After having back surgery, he was no longer able to work in that field and became a stay-at-home dad. When the opportunity to purchase Back To Basics from a friend, the family felt this was the right move. He currently works Wednesdays at Back To Basics, while the remainder of his week is spent as a phone repair specialist at Verizon Wireless Payson in Swiss Village.

Born and raised in Payson, AZ, Nikki is the mother of two. Before becoming part of the Back To Basics team, Nikki worked as a team member at KFC while she completed CNA training and worked with the elderly at Payson Care Center.

After deciding the medical field was not for her, she returned to KFC and worked her way up to assistant manager. After KFC closed their doors, Nikki worked as a team member at Maverick. Nikki joined Back To Basics in 2018, where she started as and remains the boss lady ‒ even the boss of Brandon and Christina.

Janice has followed natural health for 40+ years. She is the mother of Brandon’s childhood friend and has known the Furlong family for the last 20 years. She has worked for Back To Basics twice, once before the Furlong’s took over, and again in 2017. She moved to Payson, AZ, in 2021.

For Janice, natural health and studying herbs are her passions. She has taken herbalist courses and a kinesiology course. She uses what she has taken from her personal experiences with herbs and natural health and relates it to her customers.

Super friendly staff. Nice store. They had the items I needed at a great price. The lovely woman running the store Saturday afternoon was very tolerant of my admittedly noisy and excited high needs children which was such a blessing for us.”

Awesome little shop! Great find in a small town. We are from out of town and wanted to make an herbal infusion for my bfs health issues and was so happy to find this little store.
